How should you manage the situation when an autistic person has a crisis on the bus, in the supermarket or at the dentist? Now you can learn how to deal with such a situation in a video game called Tsara, which was conceived as an app for smartphones and tablets by the French research centre CREAI d’Aquitaine.
The centre worked with a health organisation called HAS, which supports caregivers, families and teachers who face difficult situations every day with children, siblings, colleagues and pupils who have an ASD. In the game Tsara, the player is an assistant whose mission it is to help a young boy called Adam in difficult situations. And, like in a real quiz, you have to choose one of several suggested solutions to solve the problem. The more answers you get right, the more points you collect. It’s a light and easy way to understand when and how to act with young people with autism. The app will be available from 7 April for free on Android and iOS devices in English and French.
